Overview:
The El Paso T-STEM Center is dedicated to building the capacity of middle and high school teachers, as well as district and school administrators, to implement and support rigorous, standards-based STEM teaching and learning for all students, K-16.
The Center is brought together by the El Paso Collaborative for Academic Excellence, one of the oldest (since 1991) and most successful K-16 partnerships in the country. Throughout the years, the Collaborative has made a significant impact on the quality of STEM education across the El Paso region by implementing multifaceted, systemic reform initiatives and by bringing together major stakeholder organizations—school districts, the Education Service Center, institutions of higher education, as well as parents, business and civic leaders, state education agencies, and informal science providers. This partnership has provided an excellent platform on which to build the work of the El Paso T-STEM Center.
Mission:
The mission of the El Paso T-STEM Center is to ensure high academic achievement in mathematics and science among all students, K-12, with special emphasis on middle and high school, toward significantly increasing the numbers of students, among all groups, that graduate from high school prepared to enter and to succeed in STEM post-secondary study and careers.
