El Centro del Futuro

Overview:

Achieving excellence in the teaching and learning of STEM is at the heart of El Centro del Futuro’s efforts. With globalization having a profound transformation effect on the Rio Grande Valley, the role of teachers and administrators must be fundamentally transformed to impact student achievement in the 21st century. STEM education is multidisciplinary and project-based, and will require teachers to be adaptable and flexible. Efforts to improve STEM education will rise or fall on the quality of the teaching force. The Center has the defining role in preparing the next generation of STEM teachers to help all South Texas high school students to be prepared and able to compete successfully in a globalized economy.

Vision
All South Texas students will be prepared to compete successfully in a globalized economy.
